For some reason I keep losing count of the days and as a result time just keeps slipping past me. Twenty-two days! OMG. I have done next to nothing to prepare. Yet I know myself and I’ll probably start freaking out in the final week before I depart.
I’ve gotten money, got the visa, borrowed the backpack and made arrangements for the road trip, but that’s about it. I still need to get a letter from my bank (I still need to print the damn thing out,) buy a small suitcase and that’s about it. It’s all the other stuff that I need to do to leave Canada behind. And my Halloween costume is only but a thought right now. My trailer needs to be cleaned up and prepared to survive the winter, a dentist appointment to make and go to, figure out my car insurance for the winter, and clean all the cards from my wallet. But I suppose most of that can be done in a few days, except for that costume thing.
So the plan at this point is to arrive in Auckland, try to get some rest, go to orientation and figure out how to get a tax number and bank account and then after a couple of days descend upon New Zealand road-trip-style. It should be interesting.
